Superior moves road performance forward

2025-11-11

The European brand Superior, well known across the market for its success in the Gravel, MTB, and Kids categories, is entering the next stage in the development of its road lineup. While the rapidly growing e-bike segment continues to drive the brand forward – with several exciting innovations introduced for 2026 – Superior remains faithful to the queen of cycling: road bikes.

Following the success of the new Superior RR, the brand is now investing in its successor — aiming to push the limits of speed, comfort, and precise handling even further. The new road prototype is being developed and produced entirely in the Czech Republic, at the modern Bike Fun International R&D and manufacturing center. As freelancer tester joined for testing Zdeněk Štybar and cycling entrepreneur Jakub Svoboda (Kolokrám). Together, they tested multiple frame variations in real-world road conditions to deliver authentic feedback for the final production model.

The test fleet included frame sets with a handful of targeted variations. Beyond pure high-speed stability and confidence on descents, the riders assessed snap in acceleration, power transfer efficiency, and long-distance comfort on road surfaces typical for Czech conditions.

Martin Haman

Martin Haman, Superior’s designer, explains: “We wanted to directly verify different geometry types and how they affect bike behavior in the real world from fast flats and technical descents to broken backroads. Thanks to systematic A/B comparisons and rider scoring, we can now analyze everything and keep testing to achieve the best outcome for the production bike.”

The newcomer will build on the success of the Superior RR line and expand the brand’s road offering with a model that reflects where the segment is heading: a balance of speed and handling, stability on demanding descents, all-day comfort, and high efficiency when riding in a group or solo.

Zdeněk Štybar

“As freelancer testers, we tested blind, we didn’t know what was different between the bikes. I focused on high-speed stability, confidence in the lean, and acceleration response. This prototype feels balanced: it tracks precisely, transfers power efficiently, and stays comfortable even after long hours. I’m curious to see how the Superior team builds on our findings, and I’m looking forward to the result,” says Zdeněk Štybar.

Jakub Svoboda

Jakub Svoboda adds: “The testing was rigorous. The bike is intuitive, predictable in tougher sections, and accelerates quickly without needless losses. I appreciate that Superior listens to riders and tunes the ride feel into a compact, confident package.”

Superior will now feed the collected data and rider insights into the final frame as well as recommended cockpits and wheelsets, so the finished bike delivers confidence at high speed, precise steering, and fast acceleration without sacrificing all-day comfort.
